GENERAL

  • To learn about the latest deals, subscribe to our newsletter. We also post deals on our Instagram and Facebook pages. While the road is closed, we are offering off-season rates year-round.

  • Our WiFi service is sketchy due to our remote location, as it is on other Big Sur resorts. We do have a service desk in the hotel lobby, where you can log in and access the Internet. If AT&T provides your cell service, you should have mobile phone service during your stay. Most other providers do not provide cell phone service to the Point.

  • For lodging, one to two dogs are welcome in all Garden Rooms, in Cliff House Rooms 41 and 42, and in Ocean-View Rooms 21 through 25. A non-refundable pet fee of $50/stay is charged for one dog and $75/stay for two dogs. Cats, birds, and other animals are not permitted.

    In the restaurant, dogs are permitted on the dining deck but are excluded from indoor dining areas, pursuant to California State Law. Service animals (not ESAs) are permitted in indoor dining areas with their owners.

    On-leash dogs are allowed in outdoor areas, including concerts.

  • The South Big Sur coast provides great opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, including scenic drives, camping and picnic areas, pristine, uncrowded hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and stunning mountain and ocean vistas. A handout that lists and describes several local hikes and activities is available in our hotel and bakery.

    To the South, both Hearst San Simeon State Historic Monument and the Piedras Blancas Light Station are available for tours. For more information about these and other local adventures, go to https://www.raggedpointinn.com/adventures.

DINING

  • From Monday through Saturday, the Ragged Point Restaurant serves breakfast from 8 am until 11 am, lunch from noon until 4 pm, and dinner from 5pm until 8pm, and is closed from 11 am until noon and 4 pm until 5 pm. On Sundays, brunch is served from 8 am until 3 pm, dinner from 5 pm until 8 pm, and is closed from 3 pm until 5 pm.

  • To make a restaurant reservation, call 805-927-5708. Reservations are recommended, especially for special events or large parties, but they are not required.

  • The Snack Bar is closed while Highway 1 is closed, due to our reduced business.

  • In addition to our Restaurant, we have an on-site Coffee Shop, which offers fresh-baked pastries, desserts, and breads (including the biscuits, hamburger buns, and other bread we serve at the restaurant. The Coffee Shop also serves delicious hand-crafted hot and cold espresso bar drinks, beer, wine, and specialty cocktails, and other beverages. You can also order take-out food from the Coffee Shop.

    The Ragged Point Market is stocked with beverages, chips and crackers, ice cream bars, and other snack foods.

    On busy summer weekends, we often hold concerts on our large lawn, accompanied by a delicious Santa Maria-style barbecue.

HOTEL

  • Hotel check-in is 3:00 PM. Hotel check-out is 11:00 AM.

  • If you plan to arrive before check-in time and would like early access to your room, we recommend that you book the room for the prior night to ensure immediate access. Similarly, for late departures, you can reserve your room for an additional night to have access to your guest room until you depart.

  • Room rates vary, depending on each room’s location and amenities. Rates also vary by season—with summer and holiday prices being higher--and by day of the week—with Friday and Saturday night stays being higher.

    For the best available rate, book directly through our website or call us at (805) 927-4502 to speak with a reservation agent.

  • We charge the payment method on record for the full amount of your reservation 72 hours before your scheduled arrival date in most cases. Before this time, you can cancel for no charge for any reason by calling (805) 927-4502. Cancellation policies differ for large groups, like weddings. See your confirmation email for a detailed description of our cancellation policy.

    If you book your reservation through a third party, such as Expedia, that party also handles cancellations. To find out about a third-party’s cancellation policies or change or cancel a third-party reservation, please contact one of their booking agents. We are unable to change or cancel these reservations.

  • The Ocean View and Deluxe Ocean View rooms are located on the cliff-top, and each room has a view of the Pacific, obstructed only by a safety fence.  Rooms have a deck or patio, from which you can enjoy the view.

    Cliff House room views vary by room. Some The Garden Rooms are located in our lobby building, which is set back a distance from the ocean. Views from these rooms also vary.

  • The Cliff House has five separate guestrooms with full baths, accessed through a common indoor hallway. It also has a common living area and a shared, cliff-side lawn. You can rent an individual guestroom, or you can rent multiple guestrooms for a special event or a gathering of family or friends. The Cliff House does have a kitchen and dining area, but the kitchen is not stocked and is not available for guest use.

  • The hotel office is open from 8 am until 10 pm for your convenience. Outside of these hours, emergency help is available via telephone.

  • We do not offer room service at this time.

CONCERTS & OTHER EVENTS

  • During the summer months, we often host free weekend concerts for the enjoyment of our guests. For information about these concerts and other events, go to  https://www.raggedpointinn.com/events. For information about live music at other times or other events, check our Instagram and Facebook pages.

  • We usually don’t charge for live music – we pay the performers from food and beverage sales. To pay the musicians fairly and continue to attract the best acts, we ask guests to refrain from bringing their own food to concerts.

  • We have a beer and wine license, and it is against California state law for you to bring outside alcohol for your ceremony or reception. We can prepare and serve premixed signature cocktails to your specifications; please ask Sandra for details.

  • We maintain a list of local wedding services, like wedding planners, photographers, and florists. Ask Sandra, our Event Coordinator, for help. https://www.raggedpointinn.com/weddings

  • Ragged Point offers complete catering services. Our experienced and professional staff is delighted to prepare and serve your appetizers and meals, provide beer, wine, and soft drinks for your event, and create the special cake or other baked goods for your rehearsal dinner and reception – all to your specifications.
